Why defensibility matters

An share scheme valuation agreed with HMRC fixes the tax treatment of the options for a set window. Get it right and your employees keep the tax advantages the scheme is designed to give them. Get it wrong and you risk an income tax charge on exercise, on top of the time and cost of returning to HMRC.
